Northrop Grumman

Northrop Grumman is a leading global aerospace and defense technology company. Their pioneering solutions equip customers with the capabilities they need to connect and protect the world and push the boundaries of human exploration across the universe.

Northrop Grumman’s LGO interns will work on topics in advanced technology (AI/ML applications, robotics, additive manufacturing, etc.) and operational excellence (supply chain, Lean manufacturing, systems engineering, etc.).

Future LGO graduates may have opportunities to join Northrop Grumman in systems engineering, manufacturing/operations, data analytics, and product/program management roles in support of air, cyber, land, sea, and space systems development.

Nathan McMullin (LGO ’14)

Director, Systems Engineering
While at LGO: MBA and SM Systems Engineering
Previous studies: Brigham Young University, Mechanical Engineering

Nathan began his career with an 11-year journey at Raytheon, including cross life-cycle program management / technical development work, and culminating as an operations strategy lead for a Strategic Make Center. Transitioning to Northrop Grumman, Nathan continued through senior engineering / program management roles to his current role as a director overseeing complex and large-scale development activities for systems that cross hardware, software, people, and facilities.

Michael Lunny (LGO ’22)

Senior Manager, Manufacturing Optimization
While at LGO: MBA & SM Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering
Previous studies: University of California-Berkeley, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering

Prior to LGO, Michael held roles at Northrop Grumman as an engineer and engineering manager supporting various fluids systems for spacecraft and aircraft. During his time at LGO, he became involved with Machine Intelligence for Manufacturing and Operations (MIMO), an MIT group focused on bringing the benefit of AI to manufacturing and operations. Michael applied this interest in his role leading data analytics and AI applications at Orizon, a manufacturer of complex subassemblies for the aerospace industry. In 2023, he rejoined Northrop Grumman as a leader in the Operational Excellence organization and he continues to serve MIMO as an alumni mentor.
