Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR) is a global leader in electromechanical control systems for power transformers. MR joined the LGO partnership community to innovate and transform their company in the coming decades. Fifty percent of the world’s electricity goes through an MR device, and MR is eager to develop better operational workflow and react to changes in the energy market with new technologies and renewable energy innovation.
At MR, LGO students have the opportunity to experience Germany’s cutting-edge energy industry. Students gain experience integrating renewable generation into the grid, automation and smart grid design, and energy demands in developing countries. MR offers internships in the Bavarian city of Regensburg, Germany and Dresden, Germany in Saxony. Both are beautiful, affordable cities — top tourist destinations in the region.
Among the internship projects offered by MR, students have tackled such challenges as modularization to reduce design time at an MR subsidiary and developing of a new value chain concept for MR’s power electronic component business.
