A global biotech leader, AstraZeneca focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines, primarily for the treatment of diseases in three therapy areas – Oncology, Cardiovascular & Metabolic Diseases and Respiratory. Headquartered in the UK, the company operates in over 100 countries and its innovative medicines are used by millions of patients worldwide. LGO faculty and students work with AstraZeneca on initiatives to support the company’s supply chain and other related functions.
In 2018, AstraZeneca hosted its first LGO internships in the Washington, DC and Manchester, England areas to address topics including supply chain, demand variability, and product marking/traceability. AstraZeneca student research continues with a focus on increasing the velocity and agility of external supply chains, based on process control- and analytics-driven improvements.

Ryan came to LGO from Booz Allen Hamilton. After graduating, Ryan held roles at Amazon and UnderArmour before joining AstraZeneca. Ryan works in Global Biologics Operations, providing program and project management support to efforts that span products and manufacturing sites. His teams maintain and improve the technical operations required to produce commercial biologics, as well as deliver new capabilities to sites around the world.
