LGO broadens managerial and technical expertise, emphasizing systems thinking, creativity, and teamwork. The dual degree program prepares graduates to solve significant problems in global manufacturing and operations companies.
The LGO program seeks applicants whose goals are closely aligned with the program's offerings. LGO students and graduates:
- Integrate leadership, managerial, and technical knowledge
- Work cooperatively to compete effectively
- Solve real-world problems, hands on, with a variety of companies
- Transform operations at team, organizational, and societal levels
- Actively participate in three lifelong learning communities - LGO, MIT Sloan School of Management, and MIT School of Engineering
LGO enrolls 45 to 50 students each year. Each candidate for the LGO program must apply online by the third week in December (December 15, 2009) through the MIT Sloan School of Management or the MIT School of Engineering (not both).
